WhatsApp booking for barbers

WhatsApp booking and reminders are built into SalonSync but not switched on yet: connecting a number needs Meta to approve SalonSync as a Tech Provider, and that approval is pending. Telegram reminders work today, and everything else in SalonSync runs without WhatsApp.

In Morocco most barbershop bookings arrive as a WhatsApp message, and most are lost in the thread they arrived in. SalonSync connects your own WhatsApp Business number so those messages become real appointments in the diary — and get answered while you are cutting.

WhatsApp is not connectable yet. Everything below is built and tested, and waits on Meta approving SalonSync as a Tech Provider. Nothing else on this page depends on it: bookings already arrive from your page, and your barbers are already notified on Telegram. Leave your number and we will tell you the day it opens.

What WhatsApp costs a shop today

  • Bookings live in a chat, not a diary

A message asking for Saturday at four is a booking only if somebody remembers to write it down. On a busy Friday, somebody does not.

  • Answering costs you the cut you are doing

Every message answered mid-cut is a client in the chair waiting for you, and every message ignored is a booking that goes somewhere else.

  • Nothing reminds anybody

A booking made on Tuesday for Saturday has been forgotten by Thursday unless something says so.

  • Two people answer the same thread

With no record of who is handling a conversation, a client gets two different answers to the same question.

How SalonSync uses WhatsApp

Your own number

The connection is to your WhatsApp Business account, and the number clients see is yours. Nothing is sent from a shared platform number.

  • The assistant answers, and books
  • Confirmations and reminders send themselves

Staff can take over any thread

One tap moves a conversation from the assistant to a person, and it stays assigned to them until they hand it back. The client sees a reply, not a handover.

  • It stays off until you turn it on
  • Every message is on the client's record
  • Telegram for the barbers themselves

Questions about WhatsApp booking

Can I connect WhatsApp today?

Not yet. Connecting a number needs Meta to have approved SalonSync as a Tech Provider, and that approval is pending. The feature is built rather than planned — when the approval lands it is switched on, not written. Everything else in SalonSync works today without it.

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

Yes — a WhatsApp Business account connected through Meta. The number stays yours, and clients keep messaging the number they already have.

Does the assistant reply to everything?

Only while the conversation is in assistant mode and the assistant is switched on. A staff member can take over at any point, and you choose which actions the assistant is allowed to take.

What do reminders cost?

Confirmations and reminders use Meta-approved message templates, and Meta charges for those, not SalonSync. What gets sent is up to you: each message type can be switched off.

Can clients cancel or reschedule by WhatsApp?

Only if you allow it. Cancelling and rescheduling are separate permissions and are off unless you switch them on.

What if I do not want to use WhatsApp at all?

Nothing depends on it. Bookings still come from your public page, and the shop can take them at the desk. WhatsApp is one channel, not the foundation.

How do barbers get told about their own bookings?

Through Telegram, which most already have open. A barber connects their own account and picks which events they want — new bookings, changes, cancellations, or a reminder shortly before the next client. It is per barber and opt-in: nobody is messaged because the shop switched something on.
